KMIII International Airport is a fully licenced Category 7 airport with relevant vehicles and equipment. The Rescue and Firefighting unit houses the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) ambulances services, a specialised medical government response unit.
The operations are in compliance with the Civil Aviation Authority and the ICAO regulations, plus best industry practice. Regular emergency exercises are conducted to ensure that response levels are upheld. The national fire services is always available for back up services.
There are two public health facilities and one private medical hospital within 30 to 60 minutes’ drive from the Airport.
